Sleepi™
Meet Sleepi™
Sleepi™ is the AI sleep guide built into WhySleep.ai. Ask it a question — about a symptom, a sleep disorder, a treatment, or just why you keep waking up at 3 a.m. — and it answers in plain language. It is free, private, and available any time, and like everything on WhySleep.ai, it is informed by board-certified sleep specialists. There is no form to fill out, no jargon to decode, and no account to create: you type a question, and Sleepi answers. It is an educational guide, not a doctor — it does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace a clinician — but it is a fast, judgment-free place to ask the questions that are hard to put into a search box, or that feel too small to bring to a doctor but big enough to keep you up at night. You will find Sleepi everywhere on WhySleep.ai: look for the floating 🌙 Ask Sleepi™ button in the corner of any page, or in the navigation up top.
What you can ask Sleepi™
Sleepi™ is built for the questions people actually have about sleep — the ones that are hard to look up because you do not yet know the right words, or that feel too small to bring to a doctor. A few of the things people ask:
- Make sense of a symptom. "I wake up gasping" · "My partner says I stop breathing" · "Why am I exhausted even after eight hours?" Sleepi explains what symptoms like these can point to and how seriously to take them.
- Understand a sleep disorder. What sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs, narcolepsy, or a circadian-rhythm disorder actually is — and what it generally means to live with and treat it.
- Decode the clinical language. What an AHI is, what a sleep study measures, what CPAP does, what a term your doctor used actually means.
- Figure out whether to get it checked. Whether what you are describing is worth raising with a professional — and what kinds of next steps exist.
- Ask the awkward question. The one you might feel self-conscious saying out loud. Sleepi does not judge, and it does not need your name.
Sleepi answers conversationally, so you can keep asking follow-ups until something makes sense — the way you would with a knowledgeable friend.
What Sleepi™ is — and what it isn’t
Sleepi is a powerful place to start, and being clear about its limits is part of using it well. Honesty here protects you.
Sleepi™ is an educational guide: a fast, judgment-free, plain-language way to understand sleep, learn what your symptoms might mean, and figure out whether to get something checked. It is genuinely useful for orienting yourself before — or after — a clinical visit, and for the many sleep questions that never quite make it to an appointment.
Sleepi™ is not a doctor, and it does not pretend to be one:
- It does not diagnose. Sleepi can explain what a symptom might indicate, but only a qualified clinician — using your full history and, where needed, a sleep study — can actually diagnose you.
- It does not prescribe or give individualized medical advice. Sleepi offers general, educational information. It cannot tell you which specific treatment is right for your situation; that is a conversation for you and your clinician.
- It is not a substitute for professional care. If you have a serious or worsening symptom, do not wait on a chatbot — talk to a clinician. And if you are ever in a medical emergency, contact emergency services, not Sleepi.
Used for what it is — a guide that helps you understand and decide — Sleepi is a real asset. Used as a replacement for a clinician, it is the wrong tool.
Free, private, and always there
Sleepi is designed to be a low-friction, low-commitment place to ask sleep questions. You do not create an account, and you are not asked to identify yourself to use it. There is no sign-up wall between you and an answer, and there is no charge.
Because sleep questions can be personal, that matters. You can ask Sleepi the thing you might feel awkward asking out loud, without attaching your name to it. The point is to lower the barrier to understanding your own health — and a barrier-free tool is one you will actually use.
